Combined Degrees

UB offers a variety of combined programs, which allow you to:

  • Save time – get two degrees in less time than by doing each separately
  • Save money – our programs reduce the cost of both degrees
  • Increase your employment marketability or move on to a Ph.D. more quickly
  • Combine two interests into one program
  • Continue your time at UB, if you are currently an undergraduate student here

Remember to talk to the program directors in eachrelevant academic area for details.

Bachelor’s / Master’s degree programs

Earn your undergraduate and graduate degree in as little as five years, with more than 30 combined degree programs.

Students who qualify:

  • Generally have undergraduate grade point average above 3.0
  • Have competitive scores on entrance exams such as the GRE and GMAT
  • Will be charged graduate tuition and fees for the percentage of the combined degree program that is composed of graduate credit hours

If you are interested, you should:

  • Typically apply to the graduate portion of the combined degree program in your junior year
  • Meet with your academic advisor in your sophomore year to make sure you’re on the right track and learn about the graduate application process
  • Review the requirements and deadlines for each program; you may be required to take standardized tests such as the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
  • Talk to your graduate program director to see if you are eligible for assistantships (which provide a stipend in exchange for administrative work, teaching, or research), or full or partial tuition scholarships that are not offered to undergraduates
  • Consult a financial aid advisor. Federal and State financial aid availability and rules change when a student’s status changes from undergraduate to graduate
